Judging Criteria 2022
Roll of Honour
Awarded by The Greyhound Club to senior members who no longer wish, or are unable, to judge.
A1 List
For person who have previously been approved by The Kennel Club to award CCs in the breed and have completed their first appointment. To have the support of The Greyhound Club.
A2 List
For person who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by The Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list and have the support of The Greyhound Club.
A3 List (Breed Specialists)
Requirements include:
Minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have the support of The Greyhound Club.
To have judged a minimum of 25 Greyhound classes.
To have judged a minimum of 40 Greyhounds.
To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 Greyhounds when they obtained their first entry in The Kennel Club Stud Book.( Save in exceptional circumstances.) ( KC Policy )
To have attended at least 1 Greyhound Club approved breed-judging seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed a Greyhound Club approved examination and / or assessment where applicable.
To have stewarded at 12 shows.
To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Confirmation and Movement.
To have attended a Conformation and Movement 'Hands on' Assessment conducted by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment.
To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club regulations and Judging Procedures.
A3 (Non Specialists)
Requirements include:
Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to include five years in this breed) and have the support of The Greyhound Club.
To have judged a minimum of 25 classes in this breed.
To have judged 40 dogs in this breed.
To have attended at least one Greyhound Club approved breed judging seminar and passed a Greyhound Club approved examination.
To have stewarded at 12 shows.
To have bred and/or owned a minimum of three dogs in a hound breed when they obtained their first entry in The Kennel Club Stud Book.
To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed
B List (Breed Specialists)
To have five years experience owning and exhibiting in this breed and to have the support of The Greyhound Club.
To have attended one Greyhound Club approved breed judging seminar and passed an assessment where applicable.
B List (Non Specialist)
Minimum of five years judging experience in any hound breed and to have the support of The Greyhound Club.
To have awarded CCs in any hound breed.
To have attended one Greyhound Club approved breed judging seminar and passed an assessment where applicable.
C List ( Breed Specialist ) and ( Non Breed Specialist ) .
For aspiring judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the support of The Greyhound Club.
Additional Conditions
A Lists
Must submit a written critique as requested by the Greyhound Club and the Dog Press.
Agreed not to judge the breed at CC level more frequently than once every 18 months minimum, but would recommend at least two years.
A1 List
Promotion to the A1 list will be considered by The Greyhound Club following a satisfactory report from The Kennel Club for a first time appointment to award CCs in the breed.
B List
Must submit a written critique as requested by The Greyhound Club and the Dog Press.
Agree not to judge the breed at Open Shows more than twice a year.
C List
Must submit a written critique as requested by The Greyhound Club and the Dog Press.
Agree not to judge the breed at Open Shows more than twice a year.
